CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal division Commissioner Karmveer Sharma and Inspector General of Police (IG), Rural, Bhopal division, Ruchi Vardhan Singh planted saplings in the garden on the Collectorate premises, giving a message of environmental protection and green development. They also participated in the statewide “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, planted saplings and took a pledge for their protection.
Commissioner Sharma said trees are a priceless gift of nature. He said planting more and more saplings is the need of the hour to maintain ecological balance, provide clean air and ensure a safe future for coming generations. He appealed to citizens not to limit themselves to planting saplings, but also to take responsibility for their protection and growth.
IG Singh said the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign is a beautiful symbol of sensitivity towards nature and respect for motherhood. If every person plants a sapling in the name of their mother and looks after it regularly, it can become an important people’s movement in the direction of environmental protection, she said.
Collector Dr. Girish Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police Amit Tolani, and officers and employees of various departments were present on the occasion. All participants planted saplings and pledged to play an active role in building a green and clean environment.
