CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As per government directives, a 100% e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) campaign is being conducted in Bhopal district for all beneficiaries receiving ration under the Public Distribution System (PDS). The government had assigned a target of completing e-KYC for 2,28,861 remaining members in the district. However, due to unmet targets within the stipulated time, the campaign deadline has now been extended by 10 days, during which e-KYC for the remaining 2,18,831 beneficiaries must be completed.
In a review meeting held in the conference hall of the District Panchayat Office, Bhopal, chaired by Additional Collector and CEO of District Panchayat, Mrs. Ila Tiwari, ward-wise progress of the e-KYC teams was assessed. She instructed teams to carry out door-to-door e-KYC and maintain proper records. Officials from the Food Department were directed to remove the names of deceased beneficiaries, women who relocated due to marriage, those who migrated permanently, and individuals who haven’t availed rations in the past four months from the portal.
An appeal was made to the remaining beneficiaries to voluntarily complete their e-KYC to avoid future disqualification from receiving rations. Strict action was ordered against fair price shop operators showing negligence or lack of participation in the campaign. For children and elderly citizens unable to complete e-KYC through standard means, the process can be done via face reading using the mobile app link: https://qt.ltd/FOODMP/JyITbt.
Disciplinary actions were also recommended against team leaders and shopkeepers not making adequate progress. All remaining e-KYC procedures must be completed within the next week.
The meeting was attended by District Supply Controller Ajit Kumar Kujur, Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, and assistant/junior supply officers from the Food Department.
