After a video of the incident went viral on social media, the matter drew attention in the area. It is alleged that the elderly man was surrounded on the way and brutally beaten by his two sons, two daughters and son-in-law. Police have registered a first information report against all five accused on the victim’s complaint and started an investigation.
The case is from Majra Muradpur in Giriya Khalsa village under the Pipri Kotwali area. According to the victim, Man Singh, he had an argument with family members over domestic work on Monday afternoon. After this, he went to the field. It is alleged that while he was returning home from the field, his sons Rajdeep and Shubham, daughters Sushma and Madhu, and son-in-law Nanhu surrounded him on the way.
The victim alleged that the accused first abused him verbally and then attacked him with sticks. He sustained serious injuries in the assault. When villagers reached the spot after hearing the commotion, the accused fled while threatening to kill him. During this, someone recorded a video of the incident, which was later circulated on social media.
After the incident, the elderly man submitted a written complaint at Pipri police station. According to Inspector Chandrabhushan Maurya, an FIR has been registered against the two sons, two daughters and son-in-law on the basis of the complaint, and the matter is being investigated.
