CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A special review meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) work was held in the Collectorate conference hall, chaired by Binod Kumar, Secretary of the Election Commission of India. During the meeting, he reviewed the detailed progress of the ongoing revision across all assembly constituencies of Bhopal district and issued clear instructions to officials that any form of negligence in the work would not be tolerated. Mr. Kumar obtained field-level information from BLOs and, after detailed discussions, provided directives to complete the work within the prescribed timeframe.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Srivastava, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Yadav, Collector & District Election Officer Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, along with all EROs and AEROs. Binod Kumar discussed the status of each section and, understanding the challenges faced in the work, instructed officials to perform their responsibilities with strict diligence.

He emphasized that the purification of the voter list is a crucial responsibility, and after the recent timeline adjustments, all officials have adequate opportunity—therefore, there is no room for negligence. He made it clear that this task is not solely the responsibility of the BLO, but requires teamwork and strategic planning, with EROs and AEROs regularly monitoring field-level camps.

Secretary Binod Kumar directed that all officials review the daily progress of house-to-house verification, form distribution, collection, and digitization, ensuring that the Special Intensive Revision is effectively completed within the designated timeframe.

Through this critical review meeting, a firm message was sent to expedite the SIR work and ensure the voter list purification is conducted with complete transparency.

During the inspection, Secretary Binod Kumar interacted with BLO Salma Hafiz at polling station 25 in Assembly Constituency 150, Bhopal North, to assess progress. He also personally discussed with voter Yashwant Singh and verified his information on the portal.
