CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and state in-charge Jitendra Singh addressed a public meeting organized in Singodi, Amarwara Assembly constituency of Chhindwara district on the last day of campaigning. He said, “The people of Chhindwara district will break the arrogance of BJP just like they defeated a BJP cabinet minister in the by-election in Rajasthan. The circumstances of the elections are clear to everyone, how the public was deceived for personal gain.”

He continued, “The BJP government is a government of buying and selling. On one hand, it sells government schemes to its chosen friends, and on the other hand, it buys opposition legislators, MPs, and leaders to kill democracy. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Kamal Nath has created a separate identity for Chhindwara district throughout the country. When Kamal Nath was a central minister and the budget was read, Chhindwara’s name was mentioned several times. Kamal Nath laid a network of roads in Chhindwara district, opened national highways, and established skill development centers along with central schools. BJP thinks it can buy votes by misusing administration, but the people of Amarwara are not for sale; they will stand by the truth.”

President of the State Congress Committee Jitu Patwari said, “The BJP government’s slogan of ‘every house gets water’ turned out to be false, and Modi’s talk of development was nothing but corruption. The elections in Amarwara were held for five years, but Kamlesh Shah, whom Congress repeatedly gave a ticket, betrayed Congress, broke the trust of Congress workers, and also harmed the trust of the local people. Kamlesh Shah’s wife was involved in a 250 million rupee scam as the chairperson of the Harrai Nagar Parishad, which has an FIR registered against her by the Lokayukta. The same BJP government that filed the FIR saved Kamlesh Shah from it and made him a candidate.”

Patwari criticized the BJP, saying, “Why did they give a place in their party to someone who indulges in corruption? If people continue to steal, indulge in corruption, and then go to BJP, they will be absolved of all sins. If this continues, how will democracy in the country survive?”

Patwari also mocked BJP for administering the oath to MLA Ramnivas Rawat as a minister, saying, “There are many MLAs in BJP who have been elected nine times, including Gopal Bhargava, who have nurtured BJP, but BJP also deceives them and makes Congress MLAs ministers.”

Patwari appealed to the voters of Amarwara to vote for Congress to save democracy, saying, “Kamal Nath has nurtured Chhindwara district with his blood and sweat, and to restore Kamal Nath’s honor, let’s all come together and elect Congress candidates who have dedicated four generations to public service. The whole world knows what Kamal Nath has done for the people here. Chhindwara is a model of development throughout the country.”

The public meeting in Singodi, Amarwara, was attended by a large number of Congress officials, workers, and common people, including Sanjay Kapoor, Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, opposition leader Umang Singhar, MLAs Lakhan Ghanghoria, Devendra Patel, Vijay Choure, former MLA Sanjay Sharma, Ganga Prasad Tiwari, Vishwanath Okate, Guru Sharan Khare, Jay Saxena, Anurag Bhargava, and Gunjan Shukla.
