CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: An “Emergency Medical Room” was inaugurated on Platform No. 1 of Bhopal Railway Station by Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi. This facility has been jointly initiated by Bhopal Rail Division and Atharv Jyoti Hospital.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria stated that the primary objective of the Emergency Medical Room is to provide passengers with immediate medical assistance during emergencies, ensuring swift and effective care in critical situations.
The Emergency Medical Room will offer 24×7 medical facilities, including first aid supplies, oxygen cylinders, and ambulance services for prompt assistance in emergencies. Advanced medical equipment such as nebulizers, pulse oximeters, and ECG machines will also be available. Additionally, facilities for regular health checkups, including blood pressure and sugar level monitoring, are provided. Wheelchairs and stretchers are available for passengers in need. The room is staffed with trained doctors and paramedical personnel to ensure timely and effective medical aid directly at the railway station.
A unique feature of this Emergency Medical Room is its ability to provide emergency medical assistance to passengers traveling on trains. If any passenger requires medical attention during their journey, the medical team will provide assistance as soon as the train arrives at Bhopal Station.
Chief Medical Superintendent (Railway Hospital) Dr. Ajay Dogra highlighted that passenger safety and health remain a top priority for Indian Railways. With this Emergency Medical Room, passengers can now access timely medical aid directly at the station.
Present at the inauguration were Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria, Chief Medical Superintendent Ajay Dogra, Divisional Engineer (HQ) Shyam Nagar, Divisional Commercial Manager Pankaj Kumar Dubey, and the medical team from Atharv Jyoti Hospital, along with other railway officials and staff. Passengers attending the event appreciated the initiative, calling it a testament to Indian Railways’ commitment to passenger well-being.
This facility underscores the railway administration’s dedication to ensuring passenger health and safety. The availability of such a service at Bhopal Railway Station will strengthen passenger trust and make travel safer and more comfortable.
