CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Holi and Rang Panchami, the CMHO Office, Bhopal, has issued instructions to maintain emergency medical services in hospitals. Considering the large gatherings expected during Holika Dahan, processions, and public events, directives have been issued to ensure 108 ambulance vehicles are available at designated points along with emergency medical support.

Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Bhopal, Manish Sharma, has issued health advisory guidelines to prevent medical issues during Holi. The recommendations include using chemical-free colors, avoiding alcohol and other intoxicants, applying oil or moisturizer to the body before getting colored, wearing full-sleeved clothing, and consulting a doctor immediately in case of medical emergencies.

Sharma explained that chemical-based colors often contain substances like lead oxide, copper sulfate, and mica. These chemicals can harm both skin and eyes. Contact with chemical-based colors may cause eye irritation or redness. Hospitals have been instructed to be prepared with emergency medical arrangements.

If, during or after playing Holi, one experiences skin irritation, blurred vision, itching in the eyes, or difficulty in breathing, it is advised to seek medical consultation immediately.
