CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: New Delhi. In the national capital Delhi, entry and exit at 11 Delhi Metro stations were closed until further orders on Friday, October 2, in view of security arrangements. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation took the decision considering the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar and heightened security in central Delhi. However, Metro services have not been completely shut.

The stations where entry and exit have been closed include Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, Seva Teerth, Mandi House, Lok Kalyan Marg, INA, Chawri Bazar, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg and New Delhi. Passengers will not be able to enter or exit from these stations for the time being.

However, the relief for passengers is that interchange facilities will remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, INA, New Delhi and Central Secretariat stations. This means passengers will be able to change from one Metro line to another at these stations, but will not be able to enter from or exit to outside the station.

The security arrangement has been made in view of the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police have increased security over the protest, and traffic arrangements have also been changed in several areas of central Delhi. Passengers have been advised to check their route before travelling and use alternative routes if required.
