CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The “Environment Youth Parliament 2025” was organized at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Postgraduate (Autonomous) College, Bhopal by the Eco Club under UGC’s directives and in collaboration with EPCO. The event aimed to make youth more aware, alert, and responsible toward the environment while fostering green leadership skills.

During the program, students presented a simulated parliamentary session on the “River Linking Project,” spreading a message of environmental consciousness. The chief guest, Honorable MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani, College Janbhagidari Chairperson Bharti Kumbhare Satankar, and EPCO officials from the Madhya Pradesh Government, Manohar Patil and Dilip Chakravarty, graced the occasion.

The event began with an address by College Principal Deepti Srivastava, who encouraged and praised the students for their efforts. She emphasized that such events promote awareness and a positive attitude toward environmental issues in society.

Around 220 students enthusiastically participated in the program, with 30 students staging a parliamentary session. The students, playing roles of members from both ruling and opposition parties, along with the speaker, discussed the significance of the “River Linking Project” through parliamentary debate.

Eco Club In-charge Deepti Sankat shared that the objective of this program is to empower youth with a sense of responsibility for environmental management, encourage active participation, and develop a deeper understanding and enthusiasm for the complexities of nature.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Director Sonal Singhvi, who announced plans to organize similar programs in the future to continue raising environmental awareness among students. The event saw active participation from all faculty members of the college.
