CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh, Sanjeev Jha, along with the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Srivastava, attended the quarterly inspection of the EVM warehouse in Bhopal district. On this occasion, CEO Jha and Deputy District Electoral Officer Bhuvan Gupta directed that the warehouse in Bhopal, storing EVMs and VVPATs, be unlocked for inspection and reporting on the safe storage and security of the machines. The inspection and verification of the EVM warehouse were conducted in the presence of representatives from political parties.

The quarterly inspection of the EVM warehouse is a mandatory process carried out by the District Electoral Officer in the presence of political party representatives. During the inspection, the security of the strong room, CCTV surveillance, double-lock system, and the physical condition of the machines are thoroughly checked to ensure transparency and security in the election process. The warehouse is monitored 24×7 via CCTV cameras, guarded by security personnel, and equipped with firefighting tools. The warehouse seal is opened, and the internal condition is observed with timely video recording.

As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the storage of EVMs and VVPATs is strictly ensured. The inspection was also attended by Upper Collector Sumit Pandey, Deputy District Electoral Officer Bhuvan Gupta, and representatives of political parties.
