CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Right Decision Taken in an Emergency Can Give a Person a New Life: AIIMS Executive Professor Ajay Singh These words were spoken by Executive Professor Ajay Singh of AIIMS at the inauguration of the National Emergency Life Support Course for paramedical staff. Prof. Singh emphasized that in the event of any accident, the first effort should be to make the patient as comfortable as possible. The time from the accident site to the hospital is the most crucial. During this period, if the patient is managed correctly, their life can be saved.

On this occasion, Prof. Sanjeev Bhoi, Director of the WHO Collaborating Center and AIIMS New Delhi Emergency Center, said that one life is lost every four minutes due to accidents in the country. In such situations, the role of paramedics is very important, and a trained paramedical staff can save a patient’s life by providing primary treatment in an emergency. Prof. Bhoi mentioned that such programs are being conducted across the country to prepare a skilled and trained workforce that can manage patients better in emergencies and provide appropriate care before the patient reaches the hospital, thereby preventing untimely deaths.

Earlier, Dr. Yunus, head of the Trauma and Emergency Department, mentioned that apart from AIIMS, 24 paramedics from other health centers in Madhya Pradesh are participating in this training program. These paramedics will, in turn, go back to their respective areas and train other paramedics.
