On the occasion of World Handloom Day, a handloom exhibition was organized at Sant Hirdaram Girls College to promote traditional handloom artistry. Students and teachers showcased an impressive display of traditional garments, weaving techniques, and handmade items during the event.

The primary objective of the exhibition was to honor the rich heritage of Indian handlooms and to raise awareness among the younger generation about indigenous textiles. The exhibition featured a special glimpse into traditional fabrics like Chanderi, Maheshwari, Ikat, Khadi, and Bagh print.

Speaking on the occasion, the college principal Dalima Parwani stated, “Indian handloom is an integral part of our cultural heritage. Events like these instill pride in indigenous products and foster a spirit of self-reliance among students. Our aim is to preserve this traditional art and connect future generations with it.”

The event was not just an exhibition but also a step toward embracing Indian culture and promoting self-reliance.

The program was coordinated by Head of the Language Department Geetanshi Button and Mugdha Rajput.
