CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Baboolal Gaur Government Postgraduate College, BHEL is the only government college in the BHEL area offering co-educational postgraduate programs across Arts, Commerce, and Science faculties. The college runs career-oriented courses such as Tourism and Hotel Management, Computer Applications, and Biotechnology. Research opportunities for Ph.D. programs are available in Commerce and Political Science. Modern facilities at the college include smart classrooms, e-libraries, an open gym, NSS, NCC, and sports facilities.

This information was shared during the “College Chalo” campaign by teams of college faculty visiting prominent schools in the BHEL area, including:

Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School, Barkheda

The faculty also informed that regular students are eligible for benefits under various schemes such as Post-Matric, Central Sector, Gaon Ki Beti, Pratibha Kiran, Chief Minister’s Meritorious Student, Chief Minister’s Public Welfare, and Housing Schemes.

The college maintains minimal admission fees and has a qualified teaching and guidance staff. Initiatives like the Swami Vivekananda Career Guidance Program and the Alumni Association play an active role in shaping students’ futures.

Principal Dr. Sanjay Jain highlighted that with the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, students now have diverse subject options, opportunities to explore Indian knowledge traditions, and avenues for personality development and character building. From 12th January 2026, all school students in the BHEL area will be taken on a college tour to familiarize them with the institution and encourage admissions in the upcoming session.

During this campaign, coordinators Dr. Anuradha Dubey, Prof. Pratibha Deharia, and Dr. Archana Sharma actively participated and distributed the college’s annual magazine “Sarjana” to these schools, which details the college’s achievements and various academic and extracurricular activities.

The schools’ principals and staff were highly cooperative, praising the campaign and noting that information which was previously difficult to obtain directly from the college was now easily available at their own schools.
