CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Fadnavis, Thackeray brothers share stage, trade barbs at book launch
Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the two prominent leaders of the Thackeray family, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, who are usually seen in different political camps in Maharashtra politics, once again appeared on the same stage. During a book launch event held in Mumbai, the three leaders took light-hearted digs at one another from the stage. Their humorous remarks made the atmosphere at the programme engaging.
The book launch became the centre of discussion. The event was organised for the release of a book linked to cartoonists and political satire. Along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray were also present at the programme. The presence of the three leaders together drew attention in political and social circles.
During the programme, the leaders made witty comments about one another. At an event connected with cartoons and satire, such light-hearted exchanges between political figures made the atmosphere relaxed. Those present also listened to the leaders’ remarks with interest.
A shared stage amid political differences: Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray have different political roles in Maharashtra politics. In such a situation, the three leaders appearing on one stage became a subject of discussion. However, the programme was cultural and literary in nature. It would not be appropriate to view it as a sign of a new political alliance or a shift in political equations.
The event did show that despite political differences, leaders of different ideologies can come together at public and cultural programmes.
