CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies, Bhopal: Actor Vindu Dara Singh has spoken openly after many years about his first marriage and divorce from actress Farah Naaz. He said a change in religious views became a major reason behind the breakdown of the marriage. According to Vindu, Farah became much more religious than before after returning from the Hajj pilgrimage, after which differences in their relationship began to increase.
During a conversation, Vindu said that when he decided to marry Farah Naaz, his father and veteran actor Dara Singh had advised him to take a careful, considered step regarding the relationship. Dara Singh respected all religions, but he had explained to his son that some practical challenges could arise in life after a marriage between people from different religions. At that time, Vindu felt that no such problem would come in the way of love.
Vindu said religion never became an obstacle in their relationship in the early days of the marriage. He had also arranged for Farah to go for Hajj. According to him, after returning from Hajj, there was a change in Farah’s behaviour and religious lifestyle. After this, distance began to grow between the two.
Vindu and Farah married in 1996 and divorced in 2002. They had a son, Fateh, from the relationship. Vindu says he has no regret over his first marriage because that relationship gave him his son, whom he loves deeply.
