CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: Under the nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan launched by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a training-cum-awareness meeting was organised today in Tajpura village of Sehore district through the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav programme by the National Soybean Research Institute, Indore, as part of a series of meetings being held in various districts.

The objective of the meeting was to provide farmers with information on soil health conservation, balanced use of fertilisers, and the latest scientific techniques related to soybean production. Agriculture Department officials, public representatives and 45 farmers participated in the programme.

During the discussion session, scientists from the National Soybean Research Institute, Dr. B. U. Dupare, Mahavir Sharma and Vangala Rajesh, gave farmers detailed information on the use of balanced fertilisers in soybean crops, the importance of soil testing, advanced farming methods, and various current issues related to agricultural challenges.

The experts also informed farmers about measures to reduce production costs, maintain soil fertility and increase crop productivity by adopting scientific advice. Farmers took an active part in the programme and placed their queries and problems before the experts, which were addressed in detail by the scientists.

During the programme, farmers were encouraged to adopt sustainable and environment-friendly farming practices. The initiative is an important step towards strengthening the objectives of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan at the grassroots level and increasing awareness among farmers.
