Son gets ₹2.30 crore BMW for scoring good marks in Class 9

CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies, Bhopal:

In West Bengal’s Purba Bardhaman district, a father has given his son a gift for scoring good marks in the Class 9 half-yearly examination that has become the talk of the entire area. Rice trader Shamsuddin Midya, a resident of Paraj village in the Galsi area, gifted his 15-year-old son Mohammad Talha a BMW M4 Competition car worth about ₹2.30 crore. His son had long wanted the luxury car, and the father fulfilled that wish after his good performance in the examination.

Shamsuddin said Talha had been asking him for a BMW for a long time. After the examination results were good, he decided to give him this special gift. For this, he went to Mumbai and bought the car from a showroom in Andheri. The car was brought to the village on Friday in a special container.

Used to work on film sets in Mumbai

Shamsuddin’s success story is also quite interesting. In 2003, he went to Mumbai in search of work, where he worked as a lightman in the film industry for about seven years. After returning to his village in 2010, he started a rice business. With hard work and dedication, he expanded the business, and today he owns three rice mills in the Galsi area. His business extends not only across India but also to Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai.

Son cannot drive the car yet

Talha, 15, does not have a driving licence, so he cannot drive the car himself for now. He said his focus will remain on studies, and he will go for a drive in the car with his father once a week. During those drives, his father will drive and he will sit in the passenger seat.

Shamsuddin already owns vehicles such as a Range Rover, Volvo, Mahindra Thar and Hyundai Alcazar. The new BMW has now joined his car collection.
