The Fire Department has made special preparations to deal with fire incidents during Diwali. To strengthen safety arrangements during the festival, separate teams have been formed at all fire stations. The department has also arranged bikes and small fire tenders to ensure immediate access to densely populated settlements and narrow lanes.
The Fire Department is focusing especially on areas where large fire tenders face difficulty reaching because of the limited width of roads and lanes. At such locations, bikes and small firefighting vehicles will help teams reach quickly after receiving information about a fire and begin relief and rescue operations.
Along with this, employees and resources at every fire station have been instructed to remain on alert. In view of the possibility of fires caused by firecrackers and lamps during Diwali, the department has emphasised keeping preparations complete to handle any emergency situation.
