CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: In Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, a joint team inspected safety arrangements at firecracker shops in view of the festivals. During the inspection, the team reached Hind Sporting Ground, where the firecracker shops were reviewed. The fire brigade team conducted a mock drill at the spot and explained to shopkeepers how to respond and extinguish a fire in the event of an outbreak.

During the mock drill, shopkeepers were given information on the use of firefighting equipment. They were told what immediate steps should be taken in case of a fire and how efforts should be made to control it with the help of available resources. Since the risk of fire is higher at firecracker shops, providing information on safety measures was the main objective of the exercise.

The joint team also checked the safety-related arrangements at the shops. Through this initiative, emphasis was placed on making shopkeepers aware of fire safety and preparing them for a quick response in the event of any possible accident.
