CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: For the first time in the history of Indian Railways, the Public Relations Department officials and employees organized a grand All India Railway Public Relations Seminar at the Menal Railway Officers Club in Kota. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla graced the event as the chief guest. He emphasized the vital role of the Railway Public Relations cadre, calling it a powerful medium of communication between the government and the public.

The seminar commenced with the welcome of Om Birla and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, in the presence of Kota Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Anil Kalra and several other distinguished guests. A short video showcased the multi-dimensional role of the Public Relations Department. Senior Public Relations Officer Mr. Kamal Joshi elaborated on the department’s functioning, structure, and challenges.
In his address, Om Birla praised the department and assured support for its empowerment. He was presented with a memento at the end of the inaugural session, which concluded with a vote of thanks.

In the subsequent technical session, Public Relations Officers and Publicity Inspectors from across the country engaged in thoughtful discussions. Practical suggestions were shared regarding the restructuring of the cadre, improving efficiency, and future strategies. Senior officials of the Kota Division, employee unions, media representatives, and other dignitaries were present. The seminar proved to be a milestone towards departmental unity and strategic dialogue.
