CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: The sixth edition of Fit India Week was inaugurated at SAI CRC Bhopal by Sports Minister Vishwas Kailas Sarang. This national campaign, an integral part of the Fit India Movement, aims to inspire citizens across the country to adopt a healthy lifestyle by incorporating fitness into their daily routines.

Dignitaries at the Event

The event was graced by DSWY Director Ravi Gupta (IPS), Regional Director of SAI CRC Bhopal Abhishek Singh Chauhan, Deputy Director Deepak Sabu, eye specialist Madhu Chanchlani, and other distinguished guests.

Key Highlight: “Meet the Champion” Program

One of the primary attractions was the “Meet the Champion” program, featuring Paris 2024 Paralympic athletes Prachi Yadav and Yash Kumar, who shared their inspiring journeys.

School Collaborations and Activities

SAI athletes, coaches, and students from three prominent schools in Bhopal—The Sanskaar Valley School, Billabong International School, and The Iconic International School—participated in the event. These schools partnered with SAI Bhopal to celebrate Fit India Week until December 31, 2024.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2019, the Fit India Movement has influenced over 25 crore people across the country. Slogans like “Fitness Ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz” (A Dose of Fitness, 30 Minutes Daily) have fostered a culture of health, fitness, and wellness nationwide.

Sports Science Exhibition

The event also featured an exhibition by SAI Bhopal’s Sports Science Department, showcasing stalls on nutrition, strength and conditioning, anthropometry, physiology, physiotherapy, and yoga. These stalls will also be displayed at DRM Office, Tribal Museum, NHM, Airport Office, and Energy Bhavan.
