CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Recent Advances in Sustainable Agricultural Production” was successfully concluded at Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal. The program was organized under the joint auspices of the Institute of Training, Development and Policy Research (ITDPR), AGU, and the Faculty of Agriculture. The objective of the program was to acquaint teachers and researchers with the latest technologies in sustainable agriculture.
In the inaugural session, Director H.D. Verma, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, in his welcome address highlighted the challenges of climate change, soybean production, and sustainable agriculture. Director Amitabh Saxena encouraged the participants to actively engage in research, publications, and patenting. In the closing session, Registrar Sangeeta Johri discussed the role of research in policymaking and career advancement, while Vice Chancellor R.P. Dubey emphasized the global need for sustainable agricultural systems.
During the technical sessions, scientists and experts from across the country delivered lectures on topics such as agricultural machinery, organic fertilizers, water conservation, climate-based farming, smart agriculture, beneficial microbes, and rural innovations. Key speakers included Director Manojit Choudhary, Prof. M.L. Kewat, Raj Kishore Bhatnagar, P.B.S. Bhadauria, Shekhar Singh Baghel, Dr. G.D. Mishra, and S.C. Gupta.
The program was conducted by Ms. Shreya Sharma and coordinated by Director Rishikesh Mandloi. Co-coordinators were Balkrishna Namdeo and Munesh Kumar. This FDP made a significant contribution toward innovation in sustainable agriculture through education, research, and technology.
