CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A five-day training program for Public Relations Officers has commenced at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. The training is being held at the Dronacharya Auditorium in Chanakya Bhawan. During the session, senior journalist Nitendra Sharma stated that “news is information, but not all information is news; it becomes news only if it is new.” He also emphasized that the job of a Public Relations Officer is not limited to a 10-to-5 schedule. Mr. Sharma encouraged the officers to keep pace with the times and utilize modern technology.

In his address, Acting Additional Director Sanjay Jain highlighted the importance of enhancing both practical and theoretical knowledge in public relations. He said that the role of a Public Relations Officer is to disseminate information about government welfare schemes while maintaining positive relations with the media in their respective areas.

In subsequent sessions, subject experts shared their insights: C.K. Sharma discussed Madhya Pradesh’s geography, area, and population; Soma Raje spoke about social media management; and Sanjay Dhasmana shared his thoughts on the conception and editing of advertisements.
