CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day in Ashoknagar, the flag hoisting and reading of the Chief Minister’s message were carried out at the Police Parade Ground, Police Line, Isagarh Road, Ashoknagar. The main ceremony was graced by the chief guest, Rakesh Shukla, the Minister of New and Renewable Energy and the Guardian Minister of the district, who hoisted the flag while wearing a Chanderi turban and took the parade salute.
In his address to the Independence Day ceremony, Minister Shukla said, “India is progressing towards achieving the goal of becoming the world’s third-largest economic power. Currently, Madhya Pradesh contributes four percent to India’s economy. However, the state government is committed to increasing this by one percent over the next five years, aiming to reach five percent by 2028.”
Ashoknagar’s Chanderi was previously known as “Chandragiri.” Chanderi’s textile art is famous worldwide. Wearing a turban made of Chanderi fabric, Minister Shukla encouraged the “One District, One Product” initiative while reading the Chief Minister’s message. He also appealed to everyone to support indigenous products, the “One District, One Product” initiative, and khadi, as promoted by the Prime Minister.
