CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar held a meeting at the Ministry to outline programs and provide necessary guidelines for celebrating “Tribal Pride Day” in universities and colleges. Minister Parmar directed that on the birth anniversary of the great tribal hero and freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, floral tribute programs and a live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from the Shahdol ceremony be organized across all universities and colleges in the state.

Minister Parmar emphasized the importance of understanding the glorious history and valor of tribal communities in its true perspective. He highlighted the need to present the sacrifices, history, and achievements of tribal leaders in a meaningful way. Through these events, students will gain pride in the achievements of tribal communities and appreciate their national and social significance. The minister instructed that the programs be accessible and convenient for students.

Further, Minister Parmar instructed that a comprehensive action plan be developed for establishing Tribal Research and Study Centers at Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur, Vikram University in Ujjain, and Pt. Shambhunath University in Shahdol. He also directed that all university and college libraries be enriched with literature related to tribal communities and that exhibitions on tribal heroes be set up under the Indian Knowledge Tradition cell.

The minister encouraged the organization of lectures, exhibitions, and various cultural programs based on tribal leaders and heroes across all educational institutions. Plans were discussed for organizing college, district, university, and state-level competitions focused on tribal themes. Additionally, he directed the formulation of an extensive action plan for year-round activities celebrating the rich history and achievements of tribal communities, without affecting the academic calendar.

Minister Parmar also proposed organizing large-scale general knowledge competitions on tribal history, heroes, and their contributions. The meeting included participation from senior officials, including Laxman Singh Markam, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat; Anjali Joseph, Deputy Secretary of Technical Education; Sanghamitra Gautam, Deputy Secretary of Higher Education; Vishal Banne, Director and Head of Tribal Studies, Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur; Ravindra Randa from Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal; Gajendra Arya; Special Duty Officer Dhirendra Shukla; and social activists Sobha Singh Mujalde, Lavkush Mehra, Vaibhav Surang, and Uday Bhan.
