CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies, Bhopal: The possible cause of the severe plane crash in Florida in the United States is beginning to emerge. According to an analysis of initial weather and flight-related data, a rapidly developing storm cloud, strong wind gusts and icing on the aircraft may have played an important role in the accident. However, the official cause of the crash is not yet clear, and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the matter.
The accident occurred on November 1 in the Greenacres area near West Palm Beach. The Learjet-60 aircraft, headed to the Bahamas, was flying at an altitude of about 35,000 feet. During this time, the pilots reported bad weather, severe turbulence and icing on the aircraft. They had also requested permission to climb to a higher altitude. Shortly afterward, the aircraft began descending rapidly and the pilots issued an emergency message. The aircraft crashed, killing all nine people on board.
According to initial weather analysis, a storm cloud in the area was developing rapidly upward. In about 20 minutes, its height had increased from 33,000 feet to 48,300 feet. In such clouds, intense vertical air currents and suddenly changing conditions can destabilize an aircraft. In addition, excessive moisture and cold can increase the risk of rapid ice formation on the aircraft’s surface.
According to experts, icing can affect the aerodynamic efficiency of an aircraft’s wings and other parts. However, it would be premature to consider the storm cloud or icing as the final cause of the accident. The investigating agency is conducting a detailed examination of the aircraft’s technical components, flight records and weather-related data.
