FM OP Chaudhary to Present Chhattisgarh Budget

📍 Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The sixth assembly’s fifth session (Budget Session) of Chhattisgarh will take place from February 24 to March 21, with a total of 17 scheduled meetings. Finance Minister OP Chaudhary will present the state budget on March 3. A total of 2,367 questions have been submitted by assembly members, including 1,220 starred and 1,147 unstarred questions.

📌 Key Highlights of the Budget Session:

✅ February 24: Governor’s address at 11:05 AM, followed by a tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and an inspection of the new assembly building in Atal Nagar.
✅ February 27-28: Discussion on the Governor’s address.
✅ March 3: Presentation of the state budget at 12:30 PM, which will be broadcast live on Doordarshan and Akashvani Raipur.
✅ March 4-5: General discussion on the 2025-26 financial budget.
✅ March 6-19: Department-wise grant discussions.
✅ March 19: Introduction of the Appropriation Bill.
✅ March 20: Discussion and passage of the 2025-26 financial budget and Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Bill 2025.

📌 Assembly to Go Fully Digital:

• All assembly members will receive a two-day training at IIM for digitalization.
• Future training programs for selected members may be conducted in London and Singapore.

Speaking on BJP’s victory in the municipal elections, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh stated that BJP has achieved a hat-trick win and is effectively implementing PM Modi’s guarantees. He urged the opposition to utilize the assembly proceedings effectively.
