CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A digital media skill development workshop for journalists was organized at the new campus of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Makhanpuram Bishankhedi. This one-day workshop was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. K.G. Suresh. Approximately 60 journalists and media personnel from Chhindwara, Seoni, and Balaghat districts participated in this workshop held at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, Vikramshila.

The chief guest and keynote speaker at this event were senior journalist Gayaprasad Soni, Secretary Avinash Vajpai, Academic Dean P. Shashikala, Training Director Jaya Surjani, subject specialist Anita Soni, Shri Bapu Bagh, Public Relations Officer Arun Khobare, and other executive members were specially present.

In his inaugural address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. K.G. Suresh emphasized the essential role of vigilant journalists in strengthening democracy. He said that when journalists are strong, democracy thrives. Prof. Suresh mentioned that he still considers himself a student of media and learns every day. He advised journalists to adopt a student-like attitude towards learning. He pointed out that there have been significant changes between traditional journalism and contemporary journalism. Today, with mobile journalism, drone journalism, and AI, new technologies have revolutionized the media.

Prof. Suresh mentioned that the Government of Madhya Pradesh has entrusted the responsibility of journalists’ training to the Journalism University. The main guest and chief speaker Gayaprasad Soni said that he and his journalist colleagues actively participate not only in journalism but also in the social sector. He thanked Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suresh for organizing the workshop for journalists in his area.

The one-day workshop was inaugurated by Secretary Avinash Vajpai, and the closing was done by Vice-Chancellor K.G. Suresh. In the technical sessions, subject specialists Dr. P. Shashikala, Anita Soni, Shri Bapu Bagh provided journalists with important information related to the topics. At the conclusion session, Vice-Chancellor Suresh presented certificates to all journalists present at the workshop. The workshop was conducted by guest lecturer Ms. Ankita Tripathi and Training Director Jaya Surjani, who expressed their gratitude.
