CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad has launched the city’s first dedicated Lung Failure Clinic, creating a specialised platform for patients suffering from advanced and end-stage lung diseases. The clinic is designed to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care covering detailed disease evaluation, optimisation of medical treatment, pulmonary rehabilitation, critical care support, and assessment for patients who may require lung transplantation.
The initiative brings together specialists in pulmonology, critical care, thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, rehabilitation, and respiratory medicine to provide coordinated care under one programme. The clinic will be led by Dr. Govini Balasubramani, Director of Lung Transplant and Advanced Lung Failure at Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai, along with Dr. Ravi Shekhar Jha, Director and Unit Head of Pulmonology at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad.
The programme aims to address a critical gap in the management of patients whose lung function has deteriorated significantly. Doctors emphasise that early diagnosis, timely specialist referral, regular monitoring, and personalised treatment can improve quality of life and help identify suitable transplant candidates before their condition becomes too severe. The clinic is scheduled to operate every Tuesday from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Faridabad hospital.
The launch strengthens Faridabad’s advanced respiratory-care infrastructure and expands access to specialised treatment for patients with complex lung conditions across the Delhi-NCR region.
