CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: According to the directives of the Higher Education Department of Madhya Pradesh, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, will organize a two-day national workshop on “Indian Knowledge Tradition and Research” from July 25-26, 2024. The inauguration will take place at 10:30 AM in the Knowledge Science Building of Barkatullah University. The chief guest for the inauguration session will be Honorable Minister Mr. Inder Singh Parmar, Department of Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Ashok Kadhel, Director of Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Bhopal, will be the special guest.
The workshop will be presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Barkatullah University, Professor S.K. Jain. The event is coordinated by the workshop’s nodal officer, Professor Ruchi Ghosh Dastidar, Head of the Department of Sociology, Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
The National Education Policy 2020 recommends the inclusion of Indian Knowledge Tradition at all levels of education. The objective of the policy is to create citizens who are committed to global welfare through Indian values, intellect, and practices. Many of the challenges facing the global human community today can be addressed through Indian Knowledge Tradition, which needs to be integrated into our curricula. Improving the quality of education in the country and implementing various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 will be feasible only by basing it on Indian Knowledge Tradition. In light of this, the workshop will focus on discussions related to “Indian Knowledge Tradition and Research” in the context of the National Education Policy and Indian Knowledge System for various subject curricula.
The main goals of the workshop are to preserve and promote research on Indian Knowledge Tradition (IKS) in various subject areas, encourage innovation, develop a deep understanding of traditional Indian knowledge, and find solutions to current problems for societal welfare using IKS. The workshop also aims to enhance understanding of research philosophy, methods, and practices related to Indian Knowledge Tradition according to the New Education Policy 2020 (for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees) and identify research areas within IKS. Experts from various fields across the country will share their insights during the workshop.
Participants in the workshop will include teachers, researchers, members of central study boards, authors from Hindi Granth Academy, e-content developers, national and international experts, and scholars working in the field of Indian Knowledge Tradition from broad faculties including: Arts, Education and Sports, Commerce and Management, Law, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences, and Professional Courses.
