CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Four killed in blast in PoK’s Pandi village, serious allegations made against Pakistani Army
A case has emerged of four people being killed in a village in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Initial reports have linked the incident to alleged action by the Pakistani Army, but available reports contain differing claims about the site and the circumstances of the incident. Therefore, responsibility of any one side has not been confirmed in the matter.
Four lives lost in the blast: In October 2026, four people were killed when a landmine or explosive device exploded in Mahendla village of Hajira tehsil near the Line of Control. According to local people, they had gone to repair a water pipeline. The deceased were identified as Faizan Sagir, Ishtiaq, Waqas and Asim.
Different claims over the incident: Pakistani officials and local people claimed that all four were civilians and were hit by a landmine that had drifted from the Indian side of the border. On the other hand, reports citing Indian security sources described them as Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who were attempting infiltration. The available information has not independently confirmed these claims.
Alert stepped up along the border: After the incident, security surveillance was increased along the Line of Control around the Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch. Security forces intensified vigilance to prevent possible infiltration.
