CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Four soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed, and six others were injured after terrorists opened fire on Army vehicles in Kathua, Jammu, on Monday afternoon.
The attack occurred in the Badnota area during a routine patrolling by the Army.
According to reports, the terrorists fired indiscriminately at the Army vehicles and then fled into the nearby forests.
Following the attack, reinforcements were rushed to the area, and the injured were taken to the hospital. A cordon and search operation was also launched in the area to track down the perpetrators.
This is the second time that terrorists have struck in Kathua in nearly a month. On June 12 and 13, two terrorists and a CRPF man were killed in a firefight during a search operation. Three foreign terrorists were involved in an encounter with security forces in the Gandoh area of the Doda district.
On June 9, nine people were killed when terrorists attacked a pilgrim bus in Reasi that was travelling from Shiv Khori to Katra. The deceased included seven pilgrims, the driver, and the conductor of the bus.
