CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Delhi: New Delhi. With the expansion of Delhi Metro, public transport connectivity in the capital is set to become stronger. Four stations on the extended corridor of the Magenta Line will be developed as triple interchange hubs. These include Central Secretariat, New Delhi, Azadpur and Inderlok stations. Passengers here will get the facility to change between three different metro lines at the same station.

According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), at Central Secretariat station, the Magenta Line will connect with the already operational Yellow and Violet lines. At New Delhi station, the Magenta Line will connect with the Yellow Line and the Airport Express Line. At Azadpur station, the Yellow, Pink and Magenta lines will be connected, while at Inderlok station the Magenta Line will link with the Red and Green lines.

This expansion could make access to government offices, commercial centres in central Delhi and the airport more convenient for passengers. Better connectivity between different corridors is also expected to help reduce pressure at major interchange stations and cut travel time on several routes.

Once fully operational, the Magenta Line network from Botanical Garden to Inderlok will be about 89 kilometres long. It will have a total of 65 stations, including 40 underground stations. This corridor is being developed fully in line with driverless metro operations. After the various phases of the project are completed, commuters in Delhi-NCR will get more travel options.
