CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A one-day assessment and counseling camp for persons with disabilities is being organized for their empowerment and rehabilitation on 28th February 2026 at 10:00 AM at Jawaharlal Nehru Government Postgraduate College, Buzurgpur. The event is jointly hosted by Madhya Pradesh State (Open) University, Bhopal and the Integrated Regional Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment Centre for Persons with Disabilities (C.R.C.), Bhopal.

The primary objective of the camp is to identify persons with disabilities, conduct assessments, and provide necessary certificates and medical counseling so that they can avail themselves of educational, social, and government schemes. The camp will include medical and functional assessments of visually impaired, hearing impaired, internally disabled, intellectually disabled, persons with cerebral palsy, and other persons with disabilities by specialist doctors, expert physicians, and rehabilitation professionals.

Additionally, the camp will provide services such as disability certificates, UDID cards, information on assistive devices, and rehabilitation guidance and counseling. The program ensures that all persons with disabilities in the region have the opportunity to benefit from these services.

Participants are required to bring their father/guardian, timely documents including Aadhaar card, income certificate, three passport-sized photographs, and copies of all relevant certificates (including disability certificate). Persons aged 60 years and above can also receive benefits, including assistive devices, by attending the camp with certificates, ration card (for the economically weaker section), and Aadhaar card.

The program also includes a rehabilitation center for persons with disabilities, which will provide information on skill development, vocational rehabilitation, and government-provided facilities. This camp represents an important initiative toward protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, providing appropriate education, and promoting social empowerment, ensuring that beneficiaries are included and receive proper support.

Notably, a training camp was organized on 16th January 2026 at Bhav Pratap, where ASHA workers, volunteers, teachers, and other social workers received training. In the second phase, the above program will be implemented at the regional level, gradually distributing assistive devices to eligible persons with disabilities.
