CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amid the ongoing corporate governance dispute in the Tata Group, another complaint has surfaced concerning Tata Trusts. Tata Trusts Vice Chairman Vijay Singh has sought an inquiry by the Maharashtra Charity Commissioner into the administration and governance of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT). His complaint raises questions over the trust’s alleged role in the business and strategic affairs of Tata Sons.

Before Vijay Singh’s complaint, another senior trust functionary, Venu Srinivasan, had also approached the Charity Commissioner on September 24. He had sought an inquiry into the functioning of SDTT, the appointment of trustees and alleged interference in business decisions linked to Tata Sons. These allegations have not yet been treated as established findings by the regulator.

Amid the dispute, Tata Trusts has also filed a caveat before the Maharashtra Charity Commissioner. The objective is to ensure that its side is heard before any adverse order is issued against the trust. Six Tata Trusts hold around 66 percent stake in Tata Sons. The development comes amid differences related to the reappointment of Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran and the company’s listing. It has further widened the ongoing dispute between Tata Trusts and Tata Sons over governance, rights and business decisions.
