CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: New Delhi. Japanese company Casio has launched the new 2500 series of its popular watch brand G-Shock in India. The new range combines traditional design, an analog display and modern features. The company has developed it with inspiration from its first G-Shock watch, the DW-5000C, introduced in 1983. In the Indian market, prices for the series start at Rs 9,995 and go up to Rs 26,995.

Available in two design options, the G-Shock 2500 series includes two main ranges. The GAC-2500 has a resin body, while the GMC-2500 gets a metal-clad design. The watches feature a square-inspired case, rounded edges and a layered dial. The company has developed the series under its “Depth in Shadow” design concept.

A key feature of this series is the multi-mission date display. The watch shows the date through a three-part window. During stopwatch use and other settings, the same display can also show different information. The calendar system also handles changes at the end of the month and during leap years.

The new series carries G-Shock’s signature shock-resistance technology. The watches are claimed to offer water protection up to 20 bar, or about 200 metres. The analog display includes a small seconds dial at the nine o’clock position and a multifunction display at the three o’clock position.

Casio India Managing Director Takuto Kimura said at the launch that the new series carries forward the company’s legacy of toughness, functionality and improved design. The new range has been introduced for customers who want durability and a modern look along with traditional analog watches.
