Gadkari reportedly said he feels embarrassed by the prolonged delay and stressed that the project must meet strict quality and construction targets.
The minister also announced an ambitious plan to create a new benchmark for highway construction and completion. He has repeatedly emphasised the need to improve the pace of infrastructure projects while maintaining quality, safety and accountability. The Mumbai-Goa Highway has remained a long-pending project, with several sections facing delays because of land acquisition, construction-related issues and other challenges.
