CNN Central News and Networks / ITDC India Epress / ITDC News / Agencies, Bhopal: The Indian cricket team clinched the five-match T-20 series against New Zealand 3-2. After the series win, head coach Gautam Gambhir praised the team’s fearless approach, saying there is no word called fear in his dictionary. Captain Shreyas Iyer, while reviewing the team’s performance, said improvement was needed in bowling and fielding. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips was named player of the series.

Gambhir said that after reaching New Zealand, the Indian players had to undertake a long air journey of about 15 hours. After that, with only one practice session, the team played the first match and won. He praised the players’ ability to handle pressure and their mental strength.

On the other hand, captain Shreyas Iyer admitted that the team could have performed better in bowling and fielding. He said New Zealand conditions are different from Indian grounds and playing there was a good learning opportunity for the players. According to Iyer, the team particularly needs to work on fielding. India took a 3-0 lead in the series by winning the first three matches, but New Zealand made a comeback by winning the last two. Even so, the Indian team succeeded in winning the series 3-2.
