CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : Two Students from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism Selected for the Prestigious Gandhi Fellowship
Two students from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication have been selected for the prestigious Gandhi Fellowship. This fellowship is based on Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy that says, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” The program nurtures and promotes this very idea.
Professor (Dr.) Monika Verma, Head of the Department of Electronic Media, informed that Jagdish Kushwaha and Varsha Shukla, both students of the M.Sc. program in the department, had applied for the Gandhi Fellowship. After successfully completing the interview and other selection processes, they were chosen for the fellowship run by the Piramal Foundation.
Each selected fellow will receive a monthly stipend of ₹24,500 under this two-year residential research-based program, which is designed to develop modern leadership skills in youth.
It is noteworthy that the Gandhi Fellowship was started in 2008 by the Piramal School of Leadership, founded by Ujjwal Kumar Singh. The fellowship offers financial support to young people across India to conduct research aimed at improving the public education system. The foundation aims to transform the lives of one million people by the end of 2025.
The university has congratulated the selected students and extended its best wishes for their bright future.
