CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Doctors at Gandhi Medical College staged a protest within the college campus to raise various longstanding demands. The demonstration was organized against unresolved issues and administrative negligence. The protest saw participation from resident doctors to senior faculty members.

According to the doctors, their major concerns — such as better workplace facilities, staff shortages, timely salary disbursement, and improved security — have not been adequately addressed for a long time. They alleged that due to excessive workload and lack of resources, even patient care is being compromised.

Representatives of the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) stated that they have repeatedly brought these issues to the attention of the college administration and the health department, but no satisfactory resolution has been offered. The protesting doctors clarified that their intention is not to inconvenience patients but to draw the administration’s attention to serious concerns.

During the protest, the doctors submitted a memorandum in a peaceful manner and warned that if the issues are not resolved, they may be forced to consider actions like a work boycott.

The college administration has assured the protesting doctors that their demands will be taken seriously and that steps will be taken soon toward resolving the concerns.
