CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Several accidents have been reported in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana during Ganesh idol immersion. In separate incidents, some people died by drowning, while several others are still missing. The administration and rescue teams are engaged in searching for the missing.
In the Badnawar area of Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, three youths drowned in a pond during Ganesh immersion. According to police, the bodies of Pawan alias Kanhaiya Rathore, Rahul Prajapat and Nihal Bhambhi have been recovered. In Sehore, information has also emerged that 16-year-old Atul Ahirwar drowned in deep water.
Near Kanawar village in Bhind, three teenagers went missing during immersion in the Sindh river. The strong current is creating difficulties in the search operation. In Khandwa, five youths also began drowning during immersion in a water-filled mine. Three of them were rescued, while the search for two minor brothers is continuing.
In Haryana’s Bahadurgarh, three youths also drowned in the NCR canal near Rohad village. According to police, Ajay had entered the water and, when he began drowning, Shivkant and Nitesh jumped into the canal to save him. Ajay’s body has been recovered, while the search for the other two was continuing.
