CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amid the gentle autumn breeze in Bhopal, the festive spirit of Navratri and the beats of dhol and nagada, the campus of Satya Sai Women's College and Satya Sai Law Women's College, Bhopal, was filled with festive colours. The occasion was a Garba festival and stall exhibition, where the rhythm of folk culture and the resolve of self-reliance came together.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and prayers before Maa Durga. Meeta Wadhwa, brand owner of The Indian Rootz and a social entrepreneur, and Pooja Saxena, president of the Srijan alumni association of Satya Sai Women's College and an archaeologist, were present as chief guests. College director Pratibha Singh, college principal Renu Mishra, law college principal Anju Bajpai, IQAC in-charge Neena Arora, Purnima Joshi and student union in-charge Shobhana Shrivastava also marked their dignified presence at the event.

In her address, chief guest Meeta Wadhwa, brand owner of The Indian Rootz and a social entrepreneur, encouraged the students to stay connected with tradition while embracing modern opportunities and moving ahead on the path of self-reliance. She said festivals are not merely a source of entertainment, but also a medium of social bonding, cultural awareness and women’s empowerment.

The presence of alumni association president Pooja Saxena gave the current students confidence that, after emerging from the same campus, they too can create a distinct identity in society. Dressed in traditional attire, students and faculty members presented Garba and Dandiya performances. The collective energy of the students moving in circular formations conveyed the message that culture remains alive as long as the new generation lives it with enthusiasm.
Another attractive feature of the festival was the stall exhibition. Students set up stalls featuring food, handicrafts, decorative items and traditional products. The aroma of delicious dishes and the beauty of handmade artworks drew appreciation from everyone. Through the stalls, the students not only showcased their creativity but also gained practical experience in management, communication and business skills.
