CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Dr. Rachna Dubey, nodal officer and centre head of Dr. Kailashnath Katju Maternal and Child Health Institute, Bhopal, said a large pregnant women’s examination and counselling camp was organised to mark 10 years of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan.
A large number of pregnant women attended the camp and availed themselves of free health check-ups, blood tests, blood pressure examination, haemoglobin testing, sonography consultation and expert medical advice.
Dr. Rachna Dubey gave patients detailed information about safe motherhood, a balanced diet, regular health check-ups, vaccination and the precautions necessary during pregnancy.
She said that under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, special pregnancy examination camps are organised on the 9th and 25th of every month at Dr. Kailashnath Katju Maternal and Child Health Institute, Bhopal, where specialist doctors provide comprehensive examinations and counselling to pregnant women. She said the main objective of the campaign is to ensure safe and quality health services for every pregnant woman and to identify high-risk pregnancies in time so that proper management can be ensured.
During the camp, the institute also provided cold beverages and essential nutrition-related materials to pregnant women, creating a positive message of enthusiasm and awareness among them.
Doctors present at the programme encouraged pregnant women to undergo regular check-ups and opt for institutional delivery.
Superintendent Dr. Balram Upadhyay, the RMO and all gynaecology specialists were present during the programme.
