CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: New Delhi. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has extended the application deadline for GATE 2027. Candidates can now apply during the extended period until October 5, 2026. A late fee will have to be paid for applications submitted during this period. Earlier, the last date to apply without a late fee was set as September 27, 2026.
The application process for GATE 2027 is being conducted online. Candidates can fill out the application form by visiting the official website. The use of DigiLocker has been made mandatory for registration by Indian candidates. While applying, candidates will have to submit the required documents along with personal and academic details.
The GATE 2027 examination will be held on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027. The examination will have a total of 30 question papers. Candidates applying for the examination can meet the eligibility requirements from the prescribed subjects, including engineering, technology, science, commerce, arts, architecture and humanities at the undergraduate level. The application correction process will run from October 14 to 21, 2026. Information on city allotment for the examination will be issued on January 4, 2027, while the result is scheduled to be declared on March 19, 2027. Candidates have been advised to complete the process without waiting for the last date of application.
