CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Railway Minister and Vice-Chancellor Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw addressed the second convocation ceremony of Gati Shakti University, which was inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

In the distinguished presence of Vice-Chancellor Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, degrees were awarded to 239 students across various faculties.

Shri Vaishnaw highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the university in Vadodara has been successfully established, offering industry-relevant courses tailored to the needs of the external industrial community.

He also mentioned the recent inauguration of the Tata-Airbus plant in Vadodara, which is expected to require approximately 15,000 engineers in the coming years. To address this, Gati Shakti University has coordinated with Airbus to design specialized courses. These courses will integrate theoretical learning with hands-on industrial training.

Realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of creating world-class educational institutions dedicated to transport and logistics, Gati Shakti University is turning this vision into reality. Shri Vaishnaw emphasized that the talents of the university’s graduates would inject fresh energy into the nation’s development.

Highlighting India’s rapid infrastructure development under Prime Minister Modi, the Railway Minister pointed out the fast-paced construction of metro systems, bullet trains, highways, and bridges.

Calling Gati Shakti University one of the country’s best institutions, Shri Vaishnaw congratulated the students on their bright futures. Gold medals were presented to four top-performing students by distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel encouraged the young graduates, who are starting their careers during the “Amrit Kaal” of independence, to play a pivotal role in building a developed India by 2047.

He noted that this day marks a new chapter for the students as they embark on careers in transportation and logistics. Guiding the awardees, the Chief Minister reminded them that their success would depend on their hard work, discipline, and meaningful contributions to society and the nation.

On this occasion, Court Member and Member of Parliament Dr. Hemang Joshi delivered a speech and conferred degrees upon the students. Vice-Chancellor Shri Manoj Chaudhary presented a report on the university’s academic progress and delivered the welcome address.

The event was attended by the university registrar, officials from various central and state government departments, and local dignitaries.

Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, who also serves as the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Electronics, and IT, visited the state-of-the-art bullet train track slab manufacturing facility in Kim village, Gujarat, as well as the Plasser India Karjan plant near Vadodara.

The facility in Kim can produce 120 slabs per day and store up to 10,000 slabs. The minister inspected the advanced rail loading-unloading systems, universal tamping machines, and other railway track maintenance equipment. He commended the efforts contributing to the Make in India initiative and enhancing the skill levels of engineers and technicians.

Shri Vaishnaw also emphasized the collaboration between Plasser India and Gati Shakti University, aimed at offering specialized courses in the design, manufacturing, and testing of railway maintenance machines. This initiative seeks to open advanced career opportunities for Indian youth, both domestically and internationally.
