CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Geeta Jayanti: An Occasion of Divine Energy and Inspiration Geeta Jayanti is a celebration filled with divine and extraordinary energy. For the first time, the historic International Geeta Mahotsav is being organized in Madhya Pradesh. Warm wishes to everyone on this auspicious occasion! It is our privilege to engage in this festival, which provides an opportunity to understand the profound wisdom of the Geeta and incorporate its teachings into our lives.
This festival reflects the timeless principles of Sanatan traditions and their beneficial societal outcomes. The International Geeta Mahotsav aims to introduce citizens to various aspects of Lord Krishna’s life and the meaningful teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. Notably, Madhya Pradesh is setting a world record for the synchronized recitation of the Geeta. Additionally, quiz competitions focusing on the Geeta have been organized in schools, with participation from millions of students.
The Bhagavad Gita, delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the Kurukshetra battlefield, remains a guiding force for individuals, society, and nation-building. The teachings of the Geeta resonate deeply, inspiring revolutionaries like Lokmanya Tilak, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, and Rajguru during India’s freedom struggle.
Madhya Pradesh shares a historical connection with the Geeta. Lord Krishna received his education in Ujjain under the guidance of Maharishi Sandipani. The Geeta continues to inspire nations worldwide, with translations in various languages and research conducted at numerous universities.
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Geeta Bhavan Centers are being established across urban bodies in the state. These centers will serve as pivotal spaces for discussions and reflections on the teachings of the Geeta, influencing lives and behaviors positively.
Madhya Pradesh has also undertaken the development of “Vrindavan Villages” in every development block, promoting ideals of Lord Krishna alongside organic farming and dairy production. The integration of the Ramayana and the Geeta into educational curricula as optional subjects further aims to enrich the youth with India’s spiritual heritage.
The Geeta, comprising 700 shlokas, provides profound solutions to all life’s challenges. Among its verses, Chapter 2, Shloka 47, emphasizes:
“Your right is to perform your duty only, never to its fruits. Do not be motivated by the fruits of actions, nor become attached to inaction.”
This verse underscores the essence of success for individuals and the progress of society and the nation.
The Madhya Pradesh government, inspired by the teachings of the Geeta, is committed to a vision of “Development with Heritage.” The state is developing a “Shri Krishna Path” connecting all significant sites associated with Lord Krishna, transforming them into spiritual and educational hubs for the current generation.
The International Geeta Mahotsav is a celebration of our cultural and spiritual heritage. Let us all draw inspiration from the eternal wisdom of the Geeta, adopt its teachings, and contribute to the vision of a progressive Madhya Pradesh.
