CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: According to NCTE, a Gender Sensitization Workshop was organized at the Bhopal campus of Central Sanskrit University. The event featured R.K. Swarnkar, Director of PGBT College, Bhopal, as a distinguished speaker. Addressing the students, Director Swarnkar emphasized the importance of gender sensitization and connected it with the Vedic literature and Indian knowledge traditions, using references from the Ramayana and Mahabharata to illustrate his points. He highlighted the essential nature of fostering equality and the need for cultural and spiritual education alongside material knowledge.
The Chief Guest, Advocate Raj Saxena of the Madhya Pradesh government, discussed the rights of students in education. He noted that achieving equality is only possible through education. Presiding over the event, the Co-Director of the Bhopal campus, Neelabh Tiwari, elaborated on the principle:
“Matrivatparadareshu paradreshu loshtavat, Atmavat sarvabhuteshu yah pashyati sa panditah”, emphasizing its relevance in maintaining cultural and spiritual values. He also expressed concern about the diminishing impact of Sanskrit traditions due to the influence of Western education, stressing the importance of integrating Sanskrit-based education to preserve culture and values.
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Somnath Sahu, while Prof. Ashok Kumar Kachwaha extended the vote of thanks. Jitendra Tiwari conducted the event, and the organizing committee members S.T.P. Kanakvalli and Pradeep Kumar played vital roles in ensuring its success.
The event was attended by all faculty members of the Department of Education and students of the ITEP program. The program concluded with the chanting of the Kalyan Mantra.
