CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: West Central Railway General Manager Dilip Kumar Singh, during his visit to the Bhopal railway division, chaired a review meeting at the divisional office on infrastructure-related works.
At the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of various infrastructure development works under way in the division, passenger amenities and preparations being made keeping in view the expected increase in passenger numbers during the upcoming festivals.
General Manager Dilip Kumar Singh inaugurated the newly built running room for loco pilots and train managers, constructed at a cost of ₹1.12 crore. On the occasion, he interacted with the running staff and sought information about the nature of their work, rest facilities and the arrangements available to them.
He particularly spoke directly with employees regarding the quality of food being provided to the running staff, sought their views, and laid special emphasis on maintaining food quality and cleanliness.
Thereafter, the General Manager inspected Bhopal station and reviewed various passenger facilities. He inspected arrangements available for passengers at the station, cleanliness, passenger movement and other facilities.
In view of the upcoming festivals and the likely additional rush of passengers, he also inspected the holding area being prepared on the station premises and took stock of the arrangements required for crowd management and smooth passenger movement.
The General Manager also inspected Rani Kamalapati station. During the visit, he reviewed passenger facilities available at the station, the circulating area and arrangements related to passenger movement, and issued necessary directions to the officials concerned to further improve passenger amenities.
Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Yogendra Baghel, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Abhiram Khare, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria, along with other branch officers and senior officials of the Bhopal division, were present during the inspection.
