CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Mumbai:  In a dramatic turn in the ongoing honey trap controversy, BJP minister Girish Mahajan has countered allegations against him by sharing photos of opposition leaders with Praful Lodha, the accused in the case. The leaders shown in the photos include senior NCP leader Eknath Khadse, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar.

The move comes after Eknath Khadse had recently demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into Lodha’s alleged ties with Girish Mahajan. In response, Mahajan questioned the nature of Khadse and other leaders’ association with Lodha, stating, “If meeting someone is a crime, what were these meetings about?”

Mahajan accused the opposition of hypocrisy, stating that the same individuals who are now raising questions were once seen in public with Lodha. He emphasized that the BJP stands firmly against illegal activities and demanded that the investigation be fair and not politically motivated.

The honey trap case involving Praful Lodha has already sparked political turmoil in Maharashtra. Lodha is accused of blackmailing prominent figures using intimate videos. While the case is under police investigation, political parties have begun using it to settle scores.

As the controversy deepens, both the ruling and opposition camps are on the defensive, trading barbs and counter-allegations. With Mahajan’s latest move, the issue has now escalated into a political face-off, and all eyes are on the next developments in the case.
