CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A special culinary masterclass on “Glazed Vegetables” was organized by the Hospitality Skills Club of the School of Tourism and Hospitality at Scope Global Skills University, Bhopal. Both students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the workshop and gained in-depth knowledge of professional-level cooking techniques.

The workshop was held in the seminar hall of the Commerce Building located within the university campus, attended by 24 students and 4 faculty members. It was conducted by Assistant Professor and Senior Chef Hemant Kumar Yadav from the School of Tourism and Hospitality, who holds vast experience in this field.

During the session, participants were taught the basics of glazing techniques, which included methods to enhance the color, texture, and flavor of vegetables, making their presentation more appealing. Chef Hemant Yadav not only gave a technical presentation but also demonstrated various glazing methods through live demos. Following the demonstration, students prepared their own dishes and practiced under the chef’s guidance.

At the end of the workshop, all participants tasted the dishes they had prepared and evaluated them based on taste, texture, and nutritional content. The event concluded with an interactive session where students asked questions and requested the chef to share insights from his industry experience.

Commenting on the success of the workshop, University Chancellor Siddharth Chaturvedi stated that the aim is not just to provide theoretical knowledge, but also to equip students with professional competencies to enhance their employability. Such workshops play a vital role in skill development.

Vice-Chancellor Vijay Singh remarked that this workshop is a positive initiative towards making students industry-ready and expressed satisfaction that both faculty and students are engaging in such innovative learning processes.

Registrar Sitesh Kumar Sinha also appreciated the event, saying that programs like this help enhance students’ confidence, leadership skills, and teamwork abilities — qualities essential in today’s competitive world. This workshop not only boosted students’ culinary skills but also introduced them to modern techniques and standards used in the hospitality industry.
